At the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, a young Bob Dylan shook up the folk scene by going electric and transforming rock into the voice of a generation, defining one of the most seminal moments in 20th-century music. According to an October 2020 interview with Collider with cinematographer Phaedon Papamichael, the Bob Dylan film project will be put on hold due to the recently announced pandemic precautions studios are taking. As a result, Papamichael and director James Mangold are moving on to other projects. “I don’t think he’s dead,” Papamichael said of the Chalamet-directed biopic: “But it’s hard in a pandemic because it’s all in small clubs with a lot of extras in period costumes, so you have to, ‘I have a lot of hair and makeup.’ So our next project is actually Indiana Jones 5 (2022). Mangold is doing that.
